What Should Be In A Wedding Vendor Contract

When talking about one’s wedding day, we imagine scenes that we most often see only on silver screens. But none of us(who didn’t go through a wedding) really think about how very difficult such an event is to plan. When planning a wedding, not even the choice of color shades is an easy choice. The dinner service, the floral arrangements, the catering service, choosing all of these may be overwhelming. Each of these things is acquired through a wedding vendor contract.

What should be in a wedding vendor contract? We will begin by enumerating several necessary items that should be in all types of contracts: the full names of the groom and the bride, the number of the vedor, the address and the phone number of the company as well as its full name, the time and date of the wedding and the reception(you can give this information later also, if you don’t have it at the time the contract is being signed), what is provided for the wedding by the company, services of products with a lot of detail given.

Further on, for the services it should be mentioned the set-up time, the start, the finish and the break-down time, also any other delivery of products that happens after the wedding, such as videos or photgraphs and the name of the person or persons who will be in charge of the service.

As for the prices and payments it should be listed the refundable amount along with the charges, again detailed as possible. Unless part of a certain package(in case of which, its contents are to be listed in detail) every item should be priced separately. In case other services are added later, theirs prices should be listed in order to be guaranteed(especially the price for photos and albums). Also, if set-up fees are not listed separately it should be clearly made that in the price, the set-up and break-down are included.

When talking about taxable products or services, all applicable fees should be detailed and listed along with the required gratuities. The special also should be noted and listed (e.g.: a certain song one does not wish for the DJ to play, or a certain type of food).

All the forms of payment accepted and applicable penalties should be noted along with the detailed schedule.

With regard to the policies, for example the cancellation policies, the contract should include them with particularities concerning anullment by every party. As for other policies that the vendor claims, they should be included in the contract, also.

In order for the contract to be bind, compensation at the time of signing should be presented, as the other party should present to the payer an original copy of the contract along with two sets of signatures(of the payer or of someone who is responsible for it and of a legal representative of the supplier).

One should be very careful with regard to what should be in a wedding vendor contract that is why the contract, in case of lack of any of the items above mentioned, should be corrected, verified and if necessary completed. If, on contrary, the supplier refuses to do so, you should consider providing from a different vendor.
