Planning a wedding is quite a task, as many things need to be planned for. As you will not be able to do most things by yourself you will need to hire several wedding vendors, such as wedding vendors offering ceremony and reception sites, entertainment or musicians, catering, invitations, flowers, photography and cakes and desserts. The thing all of these services have in common is the fact that they need to be delivered on a specific date and at the agreed quality. Some of them also need preparations in advance or setting up in advance. So, for your own piece of mind, put the agreed terms and conditions in a contract!

Contracts will probably need to be adjusted to each wedding vendor; however there are a few common points that should be included. Always include the following:
- your names and the name of the vendor,
- the day, date, time and location of the wedding; in some cases you will have to stipulate the date at which the services must be delivered or set up, as in the case of the bakers or the florists
- detailed list of the services to be provided, including things like the number of hours, breaks or any similar things; you will need this for vendors like caterers, musicians, photographers and others
- include appropriate contact information for the persons involved in planning the vendor such as bride, groom, mothers of bride and/or groom, wedding planner if you have hired one
- alternative services to be provided in case problems arise
- details of payments, such as any deposits and payment schedules
- cancellation and refund policy
- don’t forget to date and sign the contract
Do not forget to check for fine prints and go through them together with the vendor. Do not sign a contract that you are unhappy with. Clarify any aspects that are unclear before you sign the contract.

Although contracts are not much fun, there is more to planning a wedding than fun. You need to keep things down to earth, because wedding vendors contracts are the ones that will ensure that your wedding does turn out the way you planned, a dream wedding if that is the way you planned it.
Thank you so much for these tips here, I really needed them. Since I ma not working with a wedding planner, becasue I felt it isn’t necessary, I thought of finding my own vendors. And since then I heard nothing in mind but the word contract. I think it is very useful to pay attention to all these details as not to fall in god knows what kind of trap. I wouldn’t like to be tricked right on the day of the wedding. I consider it’s a hard work to keep in mind everything there is to know about contracts and vendors and wedding planning, so thank you so much for trying to remind us of everything we need to know.
