Wedding Vendor Checklists

Unless you choose to elope, planning a wedding is not an easy task. Whether you’re doing something formal or informal, traditional or nontraditional, glamorous or simple you will still need to pay attention to lots of details. Whatever you choose you will need to make it a pleasant event for yourself and your guests. Whatever you do don’t think of your wedding as a whole, that will most certainly make you panic. Break it down into chapters and work from there. We want to help you in this endeavor so we will give you a general wedding vendor checklist.

Whatever type of wedding you choose, you will need the following:
- ceremony and receptions venues
- photographer
- videographer
- entertainment and musicians
- catering, unless you have a chosen a restaurant for your reception that can provide food and beverages
- wedding dress and accessories, dresses formaid of honor and bridesmaids
- men’s formal wear
- floral arrangements and decorations
- wedding cake
- wedding invitations

If you think this is already too much you may consider hiring a wedding planner. A wedding planning service will not relieve you of all the tasks, as you will probably not want anyone to make decisions for you, but it will certainly make things easier as you will be relieved of actually making the arrangements regarding booking services and ordering specific items.

You may also want to add to your checklist the following:
- gifts; planning for a registry
- favors
- unique ideas
- transportation
- special bridal accessories and lingerie
- rehearsals
- beauty treatments
- honeymoons

This is a general wedding vendor checklist. Unless you are using a wedding planner, you have to know that the secret to planning a good wedding is planning ahead. If you have enough time you can plan for everything to the last detail and obtain a perfect wedding. It is best to start planning some 16 months ahead of your wedding. Try to use the checklist to get an idea of how long in advance you need to book services and place orders for items like you wedding cake.

The best way to plan for you wedding, to avoid falling behind, is looking and hiring wedding vendors a long time in advance. If you do this 12 months in advance it will be too early for some, but you will at least have hired your vendor, have signed a contract and he will tell when is the best time to make further arrangements for the services he will provide you. It is also a good idea to choose you wedding vendors early because that is a difficult task in itself. You will find that it is not easy to find the vendor that will want to work with you, that will want or will be able to adapt to your budget or the one that will listen to your ideas and also give you new ideas. Start from the general and work your way down to the details and start early!

i think one could add guests and seatings, which is a true labor before the wedding. Because there may be people who don’t want to sit next to other people and if you want everyone to be happy you need to pay a lot of attention to this detail. I think there are others to put on the list, but right I can only think I want a wedding planner. Clearly I won’t be able to plan my wedding alone and I think that if I want to be relaxed at the wedding a wedidng planner is the best solution. Still, the lists you gave are helpful and I think who would like to use it has a good start for their wedding plans.
