Wedding Symbols

The wedding day it’s coming and everything it’s settled. You should know some things regarding the wedding tradition and symbols. Wedding symbols have always been important for the soon married couples. Even if you don’t believe in these kind of stuff, it’s cute to know all this information about the change that will change your life.

The bride should wear something old and something new. The old part shows the connection with the past, and the bride’s family’s past. Some brides chose to wear their mother’s or grandmothers wedding dresses or some really old piece of jewelry. Other wedding symbols, the new part bring freshness and light to the bride’s look and to the bride’s new life. Usually bride chose to wear new shoes, earrings or even a new tiara, in the case when the wedding dress it’s not the new item.

The bride should also wear something borrowed, so she will never forget thatĀ  her friends and her family will be always there to support her. This can be also a piece of jewelry, a handkerchief, etc. The bride should wear something blue, because it dates back to biblical times when it represented purity. It also symbolizes loyalty and faithfulness. it gives great hopes to the soon to e married couples. Usually the blue item is the bride’s garter.

Another important wedding symbol The bride’s veil is worn because it hides the bride’s beauty and protect her from evil spirits. In the late centuries the veil was used to cover the bride’s face until the groom would be committed. This happened in the era of arrange marriages. The bride always will stay on the left side in the wedding ceremony because the right hand of the groom has to be free. It has to be free because if there the need to fight for its bride, the groom will be able to dot it.

Nowadays the wedding attendants throw confetti at the newly married couples.

This replaced the rise and grain that were used not long ago. This encouraged fertility. Throwing the bouquet it’s another wedding symbol. The single lady who catches it should be married soon. AnotherĀ  wedding symbol are the pearls. Some brides wear them considering they represent happy tears but some others think that they represent sad tears and chose not to wear them. A lot of brides see pearls as a bad sign. Another wedding symbol that you shouldn’t make it happen at your wedding is dropping the wedding ring. This is a really bad sign. It’s said that who drops the ring it’s said that it’s going to be the first one to die. But however there another tradition who said that dropping the ring shakes the evil spirit away from the ceremony.

Wedding symbols have been very important during time and some couples still believe in them. My opinion is that it doesn’t quite matter what happens at the actual wedding, or ceremony, but the only things that matter is that you and your future husband to be, you as a couple, to be sure and happy that you’ve decided to make this important step in your life.
