Wedding Planning Checklist

Having a good wedding planning checklist is essential if you want to do a good job when planning a good wedding. If you want to make things is easier on yourself and also make sure that your wedding will be flawless you could hire a wedding planner.

However, the perfect wedding can be the result of your own planning. All you need to do is to give yourself enough time to plan the big event, plan ahead for every detail and have lots of time available to dedicate to arranging every small detail. You should also make sure that the vendors you choose are good at what they do and that you sing contracts with them stipulating the terms and conditions of your agreement.

There are no two weddings alike, simply because there are no to couples alike and the wedding reflects the couple through the choices they make. So from this standpoint there is no universal wedding planning checklist that you can use. But you can use the information provided to make your own wedding planning checklist and put all the details of your wedding in it.

It is considered that a wedding can be planned well in 12 to 16 months; that will depend on the kind of wedding you are planning. The first thing to do is to select the ceremony and reception venues to make sure you can keep your date. Afterwards plan your budget. Figure out how much are you willing to spend on your wedding and work from there; the last thing you want is to realize that you don’t have enough money when you’re a few months away from the wedding.

Divide your checklist into time frames. In the 16-9 months prior to the wedding include the following: book your officiant, start the guest list, start looking for vendors for caterers, florists, photographers, music and entertainment. 8 months before the wedding you should book services and hire vendors; hire a photographer and videographer, book the entertainment, make reservations for out of town guests, choose your caterer, buy your wedding dress and sign up with a few gift registries.

In the frame of 7to 6 months choose and buy wedding invitation, choose bridesmaids’ dresses, arrange for transportation, book a florist and make honeymoon plans. In the five to four months before the wedding day you should start fittings for your dress, send invitations, buy wedding shoes and accessories, choose and order your wedding cake and make beauty arrangements. 3 months before the wedding you should finalize the menu, make final decisions on flower arrangements, buy the rings and order favors.

2 months before the wedding you should meet with your wedding vendors to overview the details. In the month before the wedding, get your marriage license and confirm all arrangements you have made. In the week before the wedding make sure you break in your shoes, relax and take care of yourself and pack for your honeymoon. As long as these guidelines are in your wedding planning checklist you should have no trouble planning a perfect wedding.

From 12 to 16 months to plan a wedding? What happens with those weddings possible in three days that we read in romances? Only fiction, right? So, another reason for me to think of a very simple and informal wedding, maybe even a nice wedding in Las Vegas. I think there can be a wedding done in less time once you decide to get married the simpler and more traditional way. Or just with family and friends. After all, it’s just another day in your life. Yes, it’s special, but exactly because it’s special, why can’t you do it just the way you imagine it? without too much planning ahead? I think it’s possible to do it in half the time you said here.
