Wedding Floral Arrangements

The fact that flowers are an important part of the wedding is probably an understatement. So in order to have this part of your wedding well sorted out you need to plan ahead. You will need to choose your florist very carefully and in good time. Make sure your florist is a person who will listen to you and to your suggestions, but also who will be able to offer you ideas.

A good florist will always take into account the other elements of your wedding, like the theme you have chosen and the color of your wedding gown, as well as your budget. The central pieces will be the bouquets, the bridal bouquet, a bouquet for your made of honor and a bouquet for each of the bride’s maids. If you really like your bridal bouquet you will have a hard time giving it up, even for the traditional throwing of the bouquet. So if you think you will want to preserve your wedding bouquet it’s probably a good idea to have a second bouquet, for you to toss away and for the future bride to catch.

You then have to think of boutonnieres. The groom, the groomsmen, the fathers of the bride and groom, the grandfathers of the bride and groom, the usher and the ring bearer will all need to have a boutonniere. The important women in the wedding, the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom will need to have corsages. If you will have one or more flower girls you will need flower baskets, headpieces and petals.

The church or ceremony location will need to be decorated. Your wedding florist should be able to make proper suggestions. You should let the florist know what the venue is like so that decorations can be planned accordingly.

And last, but not least, you will need flower arrangements for the reception venue. You will need a centerpiece for the main table, guest table centerpieces and centerpieces for the gift table, buffet table, bar and guestbook table. If you want your reception venue to look elegant all the centerpieces should match you color theme.

These days, brides like to add a touch of color to their dress. Using that same color as a theme for your wedding is very tasteful and elegant. No matter what color you choose, you can find appropriate matching flowers, for all the bouquets and arrangements.

You should also try to use the same color or shades for any decorations you use for your reception venue. And matching color of the wedding cake or wedding cake decorations will add that extra fashionable touch that will make your wedding stand out or at least be different from others.

Gosh, I never thought there are so many requirements regarding flower arrangements. Well, I am not the bride, but my sister in law is. She just mentioned floral arrangements and I thought I would give her a hand. So I’m searching the net for ideas. I know she wants something simple, not very sophisticated. But at the same time, I know her flowers need to match the other colors she chose for her wedding. And she chose a very light and subtle pink. So she wants pink roses for the flower arrangements with some other white flowers. She is thinking of wite lilies or some white roses. But those tiny little roses that are so nice and romantic. Well, fortunately the florist is a close friend who understands her and will be able to help.
