A lot of information I didn't know about and I don't think I would have ever considered looking for. Not in the near future, anyway. The only thing that crossed my mind while reading the article was:"I'm so happy I was born just last century!" i am so glad I have so many opportunities regarding the wedding dress and I can choose which color and line I want to have. Another thing that I liked was about you mentioning the social category and status. I think the wedding dress does the same nowadays too. If you have a cheaper wedding dress, definitely you are part of a certain category. And the same way round. But still, it's less obvious these days and fortunately there are few thinking about this.
