At a first glance the movie seems to be the love story between Mary Fiore played by Jennifer Lopez and Steve Edison played by Matthew McConaughey. Mary Fiore is a wedding planner and it seems that she is very good at her job except for the fact that she falls in love with the future groom.

She is hard working, ambitious, extremely organized and she has prepared an encouraging speech for every bride that has cold feet in her wedding day; the saddest part about this life of Mary Fiore’s is the fact that even though she is surrounded by a lot of people during the day at work, when she gets home she is alone. So, the character is very successful in her job and has a lousy personal life until she meets Steve Edison.

The Wedding Planner, the movie, is a perfect opportunity to see what a wedding planner should be and how he/she has to act in extreme situations; because even though , in the movie, the wedding planner falls in love with the groom to be she steps back when she finds out that he is going to marry. So, their love story is decent in a way because they don’t harm other people with their love; this seems a little bit unrealistic, but it is supposed to be like this because it is fiction. The main thing that interests me in this whole story is to show you that a wedding planner’s job can be very hard but very beautiful in the same time. The movie depicts the fact that a wedding planner has to be everywhere and to solve anything that may appear during the planning of the wedding and even on the wedding day.

The image of the wedding planner is well presented, meaning that it shows you a confident woman who does her job in a professional way and in the same time she has the ability to befriend the future bride in order to understand what she wants from her wedding. We see that a wedding planner has to have a very well packed kit in case something happens; she has to have all kinds of things: toothpaste, dental floss, glue, makeup, deodorant, pills and many other things that may be in handy sometimes.
