“Monster in law” is a romantic comedy released in may 2005. The film is directed by Robert Luketic and has a great cast. The main characters are played by Jennifer Lopez, Jane Fonda and Michael Vartan.




After years of searching for the perfect partner, Charlotte Cantilini, character played by Jennifer Lopez, finally finds herself the man of her dreams, Kevin Fields, played by Michael Vartan. Not very long after meeting Kevin, Charlie discovers that Kevin’s mother, Viola, played by Jane Fonda is the woman of his nightmares. Viola, a former presenter on national news, was recently fired. She fears that she will lose his son as she lost her job and she is determined to drive the new girlfriend as far away as possible from her only son, becoming the world’s worst future mother in law. Viola is helped with her plan by her assistant, and tries everything to break the couple, but Charlie decides to fight back. Kevin is caught between his love for Charlie and his care for his mother, but in general, the fight between the two women is not in front of him. That is way his role in not a major one. After the misunderstandings between Charlie and Viola are begging to be clear for the two of them, all the funny moments starts. Of course, the end is what we call a “happy end” because Charlie and Kevin get married after all.
