Matt Lauer Wedding

The wedding is the union of two people, their solemn promise that they are always going to love each other and that they will never going to be apart. The fact that they promise that doesn’t mean that they will actually do so.




Celebrities weddings are always fascinating. You can see all the important people there. The planning of the wedding is almost perfect. Every little detail is thinked through and nothing can go wrong. The decorations are the best you have ever seen and the bride’s wedding dress is always unique and special designed by a famous designer, and of course it is just for her. Who would not want a wedding like this? Or, maybe to be invited at a famous people wedding and just see all those details.

What about Matt Lauer wedding? But who is Matt Lauer? Matt Lauer is an American television journalist best known as the host of NBC’s “The Today Show”. Matt Lauer got married in 1982 to Nancy Alspaugh, a well known television producer. However, the marriage, did not last. Their union ended with a divorce in 1989. After the end of his first marriage, Matt dated Kristen Gesswein, a television newscaster. They were actually engaged, but it seems that Kristen Gesswein wasn’t “the one” either. So, in 1998 he married another woman, Annette Roque, a Dutch model. Annette and Matt have had three children, but they divorced in September 2006, when Annette was caring his third child. After the divorce it seemed that the couple suddenly reconciled. However, leaving Annette while she was pregnant was not a good public image choice for Matt. His fans didn’t appreciate his gesture and he was strongly criticized.

For Matt the wedding was not a live time event. Although all three wedding were big and meant a lost of planning, they were not an actually fairytale, because they did not have the end of a fairytale. Matt and his first, second or third wife did not lived happily ever after. The thing is that you don’t have to e famous or to be a star that is recognized at every corner to be happy in you marriage. Actually, most celebrities get married more then once in their lives. Probably, the fact that they meet a lot of people every day makes them want something else all the time.

So, neither of Matt Lauer weddings worked. It seems like marriage is not for him. He had a great success in his career, but he did not succeed in the life of a married man. Maybe building a career is easier than having a happy lasting marriage. After all, now he has three children that surly need their father.
