Even though today arranged ceremonies are not done anymore, this kind of Indian weddings were traditional in the past. Var-iksha is the the indian term that the families that have an informal agreement use. If Var-iksha is the term for informal arrangements, the term used for formal arrangements is Tilak. This type of engagement ended up with a big party that was held at the groom's home. The bride's family and other relatives were invited. There are seven steps of the vows saying part that counts the most: First step: prayers for provisions and nourishment, the Second step: health and happiness, the Third step prosperity and wealth, the Forth step: trust, family connection and mutual love.The fifth step: the virtue and the balance of the Universe, the Sixth step: the vows about the longevity of their life and joy and the Seventh step: relation: sacrifice and love.
The final step of the Indian wedding is the part when the brides officially leaves her family and enters into the grooms family. Families say good bye and there might be exchange of gifts or physical affection. In this way Indian wedding are unique and special in the whole world. A lot of Indian families keep their traditions and still respect them being admired by all the countries in the world. Indian weddings even if the couple want to be more and funky, the wedding will still have the dust of tradition and customs floating above.
