Gifttreez – Fun This Christmas

It’s really difficult for me to decide which part I like best about Christmas holidays. I love giving away gifts to my dear ones as much as I love receiving them. I love having some days off to spend with my family. I love snow and it gives me a relaxing sensation of peace and quiet. I love all the goodies my mom makes each year for Christmas. I love decorating the Christmas tree and even shopping for Christmas tree decorations.

This year, I also love Gifttreez. This is a new Facebook application that has moved a small part of Christmas online. No, I doesn’t let you spend extra days with your family and it surely won’t make it snow more often but it does give you the chance to decorate a Christmas tree and to send gifts and special holiday messages to your friends.

The hardest part is making a Facebook profile. After you’ve accomplished that, the rest is easy. Browse for the Gifttreez application and install it on your profile. When I say install, I mean you have to allow the application to post certain information about your Gifttreez activity on your wall. Once you join Gifttreez, it’s time to invite some friends because games and application on socializing website are absolutely no fun when you play them all by yourself (imagine playing FarmVille without any neighbors to fertilize your crops).

If they are wise enough to accept your invitation, they can choose out of 6 different Christmas trees, just like you can when you launch this app for the first time. Each new friend with a tree will be shown in the “browse treez” tab so you can visit their small corner of Christmas paradise. When you visit one’s profile, you can vote for that tree. This action automatically is awarded with one point and if the others vote for you, you will receive 2 points. You can also send gifts to your friends consisting in Christmas tree decoration which will become visible to them once they log in and check their tree. This is another action which is rewarded with 10 points. You also receive points for every gift that other send to you. 1 gift from a friend is 5 points in your account.

And now for one of the coolest features: upgrading the Christmas tree. One you have gathered 750 points, Gifttreez allows you to swipe your current puny tree with a medium sized one. If you want to go for the gold and have the big tree, you will need 1500 points to upgrade. Spread the word around among your friends as this new application is not that famous yet so there might not be many people using it.
